Articles Of Faith

1. The Bible: We believe and accept the entire Bible as the literal, inerrant and infallible word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit; the only and perfect order of our faith and manner of living; to which nothing can be added or taken away, which is the power of God unto salvation to believers (II Peter 1:21; II Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 1:16).

2. The Godhead: We believe there is only one living and true God, eternal, with unlimited power, Creator of all things; and in one God are three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:6; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2).

3. Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the Word made flesh, who was conceived by The Holy Spirit through the Virgin Mary, and so is true God and true Man, two natures in one person, the divine and human; and therefore is the only Savior, who in reality suffered death, not only for the original transgressions, but also for the actual sins of man (John 1:14; Luke 1:27-35: I Peter 3:18).

4. Salvation: We believe that salvation, or the new birth, is received only through faith in Jesus Christ, who was delivered up for our trespasses and was raised for our justification. They who are in Christ Jesus (cleansed through His blood) are new creatures, and have Him for wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (Romans 3:24- 25; II Corinthians 5:17; I Corinthians 1:30).

5. Water Baptism: We believe in water baptism by single immersion, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, according to Christ’s commission (Matthew 28:18- 19).

6. Baptism in the Holy Spirit: We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an experience received subsequent to salvation, with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4; 10:45-47; 19:6).

7. The Lord’s Supper: We believe that the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, it is the symbolic expressing of our sharing the Divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ; a memorial to His suffering and death; and a prophecy of His second coming; and is enjoined on all believers “until He comes” (Matthew 26: 26-28; II Peter 1:4; I Corinthians 11:23-26).

8. Sanctification: We believe that the Scriptures teach a life of holiness, or sanctification, without which no man shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word (Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:15-16; I Thessalonians 5:23-24).

9. Divine Healing: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself bore all our infirmities, and therefore we obey the following commandments: Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:14-16; see also Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24).

10. The Second Coming of Christ: We believe that the Lord Himself (before the Millennium) will “descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; see also I Corinthians 15:51-52; Revelation 20:6).

11. The adversary: We believe in the existence of a personal Devil, who, with all evil spirits, will be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire (I Peter 5:8; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10).

12. The Resurrection and the Eternal State: We believe that there shall be a bodily resurrection of all dead, the just and the unjust (Acts 24:15). “And these [unjust] shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:46; see also Revelation 21:6-8).

13. Marriage: We believe in the institution of marriage, as designed by God the Creator, to be a lifelong union between one naturally born man and one naturally born woman. (Genesis 2:18, 20-24; I Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 13:4; Malachi 2:14-16; Matthew 19:1-6).

14. Sanctity of Human Life: We believe that life is a gift from God and is precious. We believe God’s Word teaches that life begins at conception, that the unborn child is a human being, and that God has allotted our life span according to His plan for each of us. Therefore, abortion and euthanasia are examples of constituting unjustified taking of human life (Job 3:16; Psalm 31:15a; 51:5; 127:3, 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24; 49:1-5; Jeremiah 1: 5; 20:15-18: Matthew 10:29-31; Luke 1:44; Acts 17:25).

15. Creation: We believe that the Genesis account of creation is neither allegory nor myth, but a literal, historical account of God’s creation of the universe. We reject evolution and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. (Gen. 1-2; Ex. 20:11)
